Africa Development Promise knows the answer is not to reinvent the wheel. We work with female subsistence farmers to help them band together with others, thereby increasing the land available for farming, improving farming practice by sharing knowledge, identifying markets and creating a business plan that helps turn their yields into sustainable income. This embodies the African spirit of community, allows farmers to continue doing what they know best, and it improves their lives, the lives of their families, and the community as a whole.
The burden of proof must shift, so the question becomes, why not women? Why not agriculture? The research has been done, the solution is visible and attainable. So why are rural women farmers still suffering?
Join Africa Development Promise as we work toward a better future for these women through our work in Rwanda and Uganda.
