Maureen is a water and sanitation engineer working in the international development sector focused on providing sustainable solutions to water quality, sanitation, and public health challenges faced by communities or governments in developing countries, especially the African region. She has experience with wastewater treatment technologies ranging from conventional systems, plant-based nutrient removal systems, fecal sludge management, and innovative biological systems (biocatalysts), in addition to biomass waste management techniques to generate bioproducts like methane gas.  

Maureen holds a doctorate in biological engineering and a master’s degree in Civil and environmental engineering from Utah State University-USA, and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Makerere University -Uganda.
